Coach John Dowling will be taking over the Lancers baseball program beginning in the 2011-2012 school year. For the past four years he has been a social studies teacher and coach at Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, where he was the associate head baseball coach for the past two seasons. A native of Whitesboro in upstate New York, coach Dowling played collegiately at Ithaca College where he graduated in 2005 with a degree in history. In 2007 he earned his masters in social studies education at Syracuse University. Since moving to Virginia four years ago, he has remained very active in the baseball community, including spending the past two seasons as a pitching coach in the Cal Ripken Collegiate baseball league. As a result of his experiences coach Dowling is a firm believer in hard work and the benefits of competition to produce personal growth. Under coach Dowling, student-athletes in the Lancer baseball program will be just that; students first, and athletes second. On the field, student-athletes will always compete while maintaining perspective by focusing on the process over the result.
WELCOME COACH DOWLING!
