Nov. 30th - Dec. 1st Lancers win Freedom Tip-Off Classic in Woodbridge
The Lancers opened their 2007-2008 season by winning the 1st Freedom Tip-Off Classic. The Lancers defeated the host Freedom Eagles by a score of 62-50 on Friday night and the Dunbar High School by a count of 74-64 on Saturday night. The Lancers were led by Walter Griffin and Tad Dickman in the scoring and rebounding department, and by outstanding guard play by Vonelle Cherry and Andres Vitola on both ends of the floor. The Lancers will open their home season of Friday Dec. 7th against Chantilly.
Friday Dec. 7th
The Lancers opened their home season with a tough loss to the visiting Chantilly Chargers tonight. The Lancers made too many defensive mistakes in the third quarter and fell behind by as many as 23 points, but the Lancers did battle back to cut the lead down to 8 on two different occasions before losing by a count of 82-70. The Lancers return to acition on Tuesday Dec.11th at Yorktown as part of a double header. The Lancers were led in scoring by Walter Griffin with 18, Tad Dickman with 16 and Fenan Woldu with 10 points each.
Tuesday Dec. 11th & 14th
The Lancers will travel to Yorktown to take on the Yorktown Patriots in double header action. The Lancers will try to get back on track after suffering their first loss of the season, the Lancers are currently 2-1,and will return home on Friday Dec. 14th to face the Wakefield Warriors.
Dec. 11th
The Lancers defeated the Yorktown Patriots in a non-district game in Arlington by a score of 64-56. The lancers were led in scoring by Walter Griffin's 20 points and Andres Vitola who chipped in 16 for the visiting Lancers.
With the victory the Lancers improved to 3-1 on the season and will host Wakefield on friday dec.14 in the Green House at 7:30.
On Dec. 14 the Lancers hosted the Wakefield Warriors in front of a very vocal crowd in the "Green House" Lee's pressure defense proved to be too much for the visiting Warriors as the Lancers led by as many as 20 points in the second half. Lee was led by Walter Griffin who scored 18 and Tad Dickman's 15 points, Tad missed a double-double by one rebound as he hauled in 9 for the game. Jose Meija had a strong game off the bench with 10 points and 4 rebounds. The Lancers will be in action once again on Tuesday Dec. 18th as they travel to Robinson to take on the Robinson Rams in their final non-district game before district begins on Friday against visiting Lake Braddock.
Dec. 18th

The Lancers defeated the Robinson Rams by a score of 54-43 to improve to 5-1 on the season and head into district play on Friday Dec. 21 against the Lake Braddock Bruins at Lee.
Dec. 21 Lancers win Patriot district opener against Lake Braddock!
The Lancers pulled off a furious come back at home against the visiting Bruins, after trailing by 11 in the 4th quarter the Lancers went on a 21-4 run to end the game and their 4th straight victory to improve to 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in the district. The crowd was great and played a big part in the victory.
Dec 27-28

Dec. 27
The Lancers traveled to Waldorf to participate in the North Point Challenge. The Lancers faced C.H.Flowers in the opening game and were victorious by a score of 75-68. Lee was led in scoring by Tad Dickman with 22 and Walter Griffin with 20 points.

Dec 28
The Lancers faced Crossland High School in day two of the North Point Challenge and the Lancers fell in overtime to the Cavs by a score of 84-79 in overtime. The Lancers missed a chance to win it in regulation when a shot at the buzzer rolled off the rim. Lee was led in scoring by Tad Dickman who scored a career high 36 points in the loss, Walter Griffin added 19 for the Lancers whose record fell to 7-2 on the season

Dickman and Griffin make second team all-district in Patriot District.
Senior Tad Dickma and Sophomore Walter Griffin were named to the 2nd team all district team this past week.
Lancers season ends in district tournament playoffs. The Lancers lost to Lake Braddock 56-54 in a tightly fought contest at Lake Braddock on Tuesday night ending the Lancers hope of post season glory, and ending the careers of 3 players who have been instrumental in the resurgence of Lancer basketball. Tad Dickman, Dre Vitola and Vonelle Cherry all three year starters careers came to a close with last nights defeat, and all will be missed.
